Raw Foods Potluck with George Eisman, RD, guest speaker

Location: Schultzie’s apartment at the top floor of 120 Highland Place (near Stewart Ave, Williams St, and Eddy St in Ithaca NY 14850), SATURDAY February 4th 2012 at 6:30 PM. You can park on Stewart Ave, or in the Collegetown Parking Garage. Call Schultzie at 607-273-4797 if you have any questions.

Bring: a vegan (no meat, fish/seafood, dairy, eggs, or honey) raw dish to feed 6 – 8 people, a serving utensil, and your own place setting (plate, bowl, cup, utensils, cloth napkin).
Note: This apartment does not have an elevator, and it does have a flight of stairs.

Speaker: George Eisman, RD

George Eisman has been a Registered Dietition since 1978. He is the founder of the Association of Vegetarian Dietitians and Nutrition Educators, and co-founder and first Chairman-Elect of the Vegetarian Nutrition Practice Group of the American Dietetic Association. He has worked as a dietitian at Miami Children’s Hospital and Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, and at Wesley Woods Nursing Home in Atlanta, before serving as a Public Health Nutritionist for the State Health Departments of Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina. He has taught nutrition at the college and university level for over 20 years, having served as a faculty member at Florida State University, Broward Community College and Miami-Dade Community College. He is the author of The Most Noble Diet; Don’t Let Your Diet Add to Your Cancer Risk, and A Basic Course in Vegetarian and Vegan Nutrition. In 1993 he was inducted into the Vegetarian Hall of Fame by the North American Vegetarian Society.
